Raw Images

Ensure that Raw Images can be Stored on iPad

  • Open the Settings app on your iPad
  • Select Photos on the left (you will need to scroll down to see this)
  • Select Download and Keep Originals on the right
    A tick will appear next to Download and Keep Originals

Import Raw File

  • Open Affinity Photo
  • Click on the + button at the top right
  • Click on Import From Photos
  • Click on a folder e.g. Recents
  • Click on the photo that you want to import
    Note that Raw images will have RAW at the bottom right of the icon
  • The photo will load into Affinity Photo

Develop Photo

  • Select the Develop Persona at the top
    Use the switch at the top of each section to turn settings for section on or off
    Use arrow to left of switch to reset section to default settings
    Exposure
    Exposure Brightness of entire photo
    Black Point Black Point - Adjust so that histogram just touches left
    Brightness Brightness of Midtones - use this rather then Exposure
    Enhance
    Contrast Contrast of entire photo
    Clarity Sharpens Photo by Adding Edge Contrast
    Saturation Makes all colours more intense (typically add a little of this)
    Vibrance Makes muted colours more intense (typically add a bit more of this)
    White Balance
    Temperature Make photo Cooler or Warmer
    Tint Fixes colour casts that come from artificial lighting
    Shadows/Highlights
    Shadows Make Shadows Lighter or Darker
    Highlights Make Highlights Lighter or Darker
  • Press the Split button at the bottom to enable Split view
    This will give you a slider that shows a before and an after view of the photo
  • Press the Develop button at the bottom to Develop the photo
